AUCOIN BAKERY USES ROUTE COMPANION TO OPTIMIZE ORDER TAKING AND INVENTORY MANAGEMENT.

The Aucoin Bakery, located in Nova Scotia, has recently acquired the Companion® software Suite. The Aucoin Bakery has entrusted CIS Group with the task of automating its Direct Store Delivery (DSD) activities. CIS has supplied the Aucoin Bakery with devices equipped with the Route Companion® software, which allows a faster and more accurate processing of orders, as well as invoicing at the point of sale. The Aucoin Bakery already had hand-held computers, but these were becoming rather outdated.

Route Companion® is installed on Intermec CN3B mobile devices and communicates through Internet with Office Companion®, with the help of a cradle. Office Companion® is interfaced with the company’s existing software, Simply Accounting, which allows the automatic transfer of invoices to the accounting system. Route Companion® allows much more efficiency and control in the management of inventory. The truck inventory at the beginning of the day, the management of routes and order taking are all made easier and faster by the mobile device, thanks to the integrated scanner.  At the point of sale, Route Companion® ensures accuracy in the processing of returns and orders, and invoice printing is done in an instant using Intermec PB51 printers.
