CIS Group has automated the activities of FORD METCALFE’s delivery personnel

Ford Metcalfe Ltd. of Newfoundland chooses CIS-Omniciel to manage and implement its route accounting project. Ford Metcalfe is the largest independent distributor of Molson products in Newfoundland. They were manually handling invoicing and they were looking forward to automating their distribution operations, providing delivery personnel with handheld computers and printers.
The implementation of the project was done in less than a week. “CIS-Omniciel Group was fully committed to meeting the set schedule and budget for the project”, mentioned Raul Alvarez, CIS Group Marketing Manager. The hand held computers chosen for their project were the rugged Symbol-Motorola MC70 coupled with the ONeil MC70 printpad.
With the Companion solution, Ford Metcalfe replaces manual invoicing with a fully automated point of sale system. Route Companion optimizes the activities of delivery personnel, enabling them to automate reporting, invoicing, taking returns, collect payments and manage credit and inventory. CIS-Omniciel is happy to help Ford Metcalfe boost overall productivity, eliminating many hours of manual data entry. Keith Maher from Ford Metcalfe Ltd. stated, “I was looking forward to replacing manual invoicing and reporting, automating the activities of my delivery guys. I’m happy with the way the project was delivered. CIS-Omniciel really met our expectations”.
