Parmalat Canada To Speed Deliveries with DSD System from CIS Group and Intermec Technologies

EVERETT, Wash., and SAINT-JEROME, Quebec, Dec. 13, 2004

CIS Group and Intermec Technologies Corp. have been selected to provide Parmalat Canada with a mobile direct store delivery information automation system that will provide order entry and invoicing at the point of sale, as well as credit, pricing, sample and inventory management.

Parmalat Canada is one of the largest dairy companies in Canada, producing and distributing a wide variety of dairy products, from fluid milk to cheese and yogurt.

Starting with 150 routes in Quebec, the system, which includes CIS Group’s Companion Suite DSD software and Intermec Bluetooth-enabled 740 mobile computers and 6820 portable printers, will streamline delivery management. More than 400 routes across Canada will use this automated system when completely implemented. The system automates all activities, including sales, distribution, order preparation and processing, delivery, inventory management and accounting, allowing Parmalat’s drivers to spend more time with their customers and less time searching price lists and calculating invoices.

“As we looked into replacing our old system, we wanted a tried-and-true, integrated solution from leaders in the industry,” said Vince Campanelli, vice-president of Information Technology at Parmalat Canada. “CIS Group and Intermec truly partnered with Parmalat to design and deliver exactly what we needed to move our route management forward.”

“Companion Suite, combined with the 740 mobile computers and 6820 printers, will deliver a wealth of new capabilities to Parmalat Canada,” said Les Mesh, vice-president, Canadian
operations for Intermec. “The collection and transmission of information will be faster and more complete, while the integration with Parmalat’s back-office system will improve considerably.”

“The teams of Intermec and CIS Group provide a single source for Parmalat’s route
management system,” said Pascal Poulou, sales manager for CIS Group. “Because it gives delivery personnel all the tools and real-time information to manage their accounts on the spot, the solution will increase productivity and customer satisfaction.”
