CUISINE KARO WILL USE ROUTE COMPANION FROM CIS GROUP TO AUTOMATE ITS DIRECT STORE DELIVERY OPERATIONS

Cuisine Karo, based in Montreal (Anjou), Quebec, announced that it will rely on CIS Group to help automate its Direct Store Delivery operations. Cuisine Karo will utilize the Companion® Suite by CIS Group to manage its distribution activities. Route Companion® will help Cuisine Karo not only to improve the efficiency in its field activities and reduce lead times for order preparation, but also to increase the sales per route and reduce errors. The Companion® Suite will also help Cuisine Karo achieve a quicker reaction time, by improving daily reporting activities at the sales level and by generating configurable reports with accurate and timely information at the management level.

Route Companion® will run on Intermec CN3 handheld computers, built to survive the rigors of the road. Route Companion® will communicate in a bidirectional environment with Office Companion®, installed in the office and used to manage customer, product and pricing information. Delivery personnel will use Route Companion® to take orders at POS; they will capture signatures electronically and print invoices right away using a rugged 4-inch mobile printer, the Intermec PB51. The orders and invoices will be automatically transmitted to Office Companion®, without the need for re-keying the information, thus dramatically reducing errors and manual labor. Route Companion® will help them to manage returns and collection, while also allowing for quick and easy route settlement at the end of the day. Office Companion® will interface seamlessly with Cuisine Karo’s accounting system, Simply Accounting, so that all the information pushed from Route Companion® will automatically become available in both Office Companion® and Simply Accounting. Managers will be able to generate various configurable reports using Office Companion®, to make better decisions based on more accurate and timely data.
