Quebec is now an international player in software solutions dealing with all aspects of distribution, delivery routing and sales force management
Laval (Quebec), February 23, 2007 – CIS Group and its associates are joining forces with Omniciel International to expand its customer base and broaden its field of expertise, adding Omniciel customers that include Molson, Labatt, Sleeman, McCain, Aliments Ultima, Danone and a number of American companies to its business.
CIS Group will now serve a full 90% of the distribution route market in Quebec and about 40% in Canada, representing several billion a year in total sales. The new company will have more than 60 employees on its payroll.
Omniciel International’s software solutions are a perfect fit for CIS products. “As the largest group in Canada, we’ll be in a great position to take on the Canadian and American markets and compete on an equal footing with other major players in the industry,” said Jacques Tessier, CIS Group co-founder and CEO.
“Focusing our strengths on a single goal will allow all our customers to access the best solutions and the best service on the market,” explained Jan H. Lessard, president of Omniciel International and new CIS Group vice-president of business development.
Founded in 1977, CIS Group is at the leading edge of new technologies with customers that include Canadian multinationals such as Saputo Group, Loto-Québec, Parmalat, Sun Media (a division of Quebecor), Agropur, Boulangerie Gadoua and Clarins Canada.
“Emerging technologies and telecommunications tools represent a major challenge, and there is no doubt that this merger will lead to a next generation of software that will win an increased market share,” said Vianney Turcotte, vice-president and general manager of Omniciel International and new Group CIS vice-president of implementation.
“With the combined resources, experience and know-how of both companies, the new group will offer software that is hard to beat in Canada or the US. We’re very proud of what we’ve accomplished. Integrating Omniciel was an obvious step in pursuing our development strategy,” added Jacques Tessier.
